Indoor painting in north-west Skåne

NLL Måleri paints interior walls and ceilings in north-west Skåne. Price and scope are confirmed in the quote.

Preferred timing, room access and surface condition must be agreed when planning. The guide interior painting in winter explains how temperature, drying and ventilation affect planning during colder months.

An association’s order for communal areas does not qualify for ROT. A private homeowner’s entitlement must be assessed under Swedish Tax Agency conditions. See what the association should state in the information for housing association painting.

Which interior surfaces does NLL paint?

NLL paints walls and ceilings in houses and flats. State included rooms and surfaces so scope can be defined in the quote.

For ceiling surfaces and working sequence, see the guide to ceiling preparation and painting.

  • Walls: state room, approximate area and existing finish.
  • Ceilings: state area, height and visible damage or stains.
  • Filling: describe holes, cracks and possible skim-coating needs.

Window and door painting has separate scope and pricing. Read about painting and repairing windows and doors if these parts are also included in your project.

How do wall, ceiling and woodwork paints differ?

These paints are selected according to surface and intended use. Sheen describes appearance but alone cannot determine cleanability or the right treatment.

Beckers describes appearance and durability as factors in choosing wall paint and sheen. Matt products can differ in properties. Check the proposed product’s instructions.

Basis for choosing interior paint
Surface areaWhat to chooseWhat to check
WallsDesired colour and sheenSurface, wear and cleaning needs
CeilingCeiling product suited to the surfaceStains, lighting and previous treatment
Doors and other woodworkProduct for the particular surfaceMaterial, existing paint and separate scope

The guide to painting internal doors covers door-leaf surfaces and preparation, a different task from room walls and ceilings.

Which paint suits each room?

Room use, surface and cleaning needs guide paint selection alongside appearance. Kitchens, halls and bedrooms do not necessarily need the same product or sheen.

Describe room use and surfaces exposed to wear. Assess colour in the room’s lighting and check product suitability.

Wet rooms need separate assessment of construction and system. The ordinary wall-painting labour rate does not cover a complete wet-room job. Read the guide to painting bathrooms to understand what needs clarifying.

For colour changes, assess coverage and coats for the surface and product. See interior painting prices per m² for labour, materials and extras.

How does the work proceed step by step?

Work is planned around surfaces and agreed preparation. These four parts show what the quote should describe.

  1. Define and protect: agree surfaces, room access and what needs covering.
  2. Prepare the surface: assess cleaning, any filling, sanding and priming according to surface and system.
  3. Paint according to the system: coats and drying follow product instructions and agreed scope.
  4. Review the result: check finished surfaces, reinstatement and when the room can be used again.

For more detail, read our guide to painting walls step by step.

Clear scope in the quote

Request separate painting, filling, materials and extras. A square-metre price does not mean all preparation or a fixed number of coats is always included.

Can you remain at home while NLL paints?

You can remain if work can be separated and rooms used according to the selected products’ instructions. Agree room order, ventilation and drying when planning. Water-based paint alone does not mean a room is ready after airing.

Indoor conditions and drying are covered in the winter interior painting guide. Suspected moisture damage requires investigation and its cause addressing before finishing. NLL offers filling and smoothing before painting. Remediation is not included in the service described here.

What does interior painting cost?

Wall and ceiling painting labour costs 250–437.50 SEK per m² including VAT before any applicable ROT. Area means the surface painted, not floor area. Materials and other project costs are extra. See interior painting labour prices or estimate your project cost.

Need both filling and painting? NLL’s combined labour price is 562.50 SEK/m² including VAT before any applicable ROT deduction. Materials are extra, and the scope is specified in the quote. See the worked example for the cost of filling and painting a room to distinguish labour costs from materials and deductions.

Walls

Wall area means the wall surfaces to be treated. It is not the same as the room’s floor area.

Ceiling

Specify the ceiling area separately if the ceiling also needs painting.

Floor area

Floor area describes the room’s size, but it is not enough on its own to price wall painting.

Interior painting FAQs

What does interior painting cost per room?
Price depends on wall and ceiling area and scope. NLL’s labour rate is 250–437.50 SEK/m² including VAT before any applicable ROT. Painting materials cost 187.50–250 SEK/m². Filling and extras need separate scope; floor area is not painted area.
How long does interior painting take?
Duration depends on area, preparation, access and product drying times. Request a plan for your rooms and when they can be used again. A generic number of days per room does not describe your project.
Which paint is best for interior walls?
The right wall paint must suit the surface and room use. Compare desired sheen, cleaning needs and product properties. No single sheen or paint is best for every wall.
Is filling needed before painting?
Filling is needed where surfaces require repair or smoothing. Loose material and adhesive residue must first be assessed and handled according to the chosen system. Scope, product and number of treatments depend on the surface; filling is not automatically included in a painting price.
Can I stay at home during painting?
It depends on separating the work and the products used. Agree usable rooms, ventilation and drying before starting. Follow product instructions for when painted rooms can return to use.
Can you remove old wallpaper?
Wallpaper removal needs assessing as part of preparation for painting. Describe the wall finish in your enquiry. Method, scope and price require confirmation before ordering. NLL does not offer wallpapering as a standalone service.
ROT for interior painting?
ROT may apply to eligible painting labour in a qualifying home. The deduction is up to 30% of labour and requires sufficient tax paid and remaining allowance, among other conditions. Materials do not qualify. An association’s order does not qualify; check conditions for the person ordering.
