Allow 500–875 SEK per m² for façade labour including VAT, which comes to 350–612.50 SEK per m² after the 30% ROT tax deduction.
The façade material determines the figure, not the postcode.
| Surface area | Labour price per m² including VAT | After full eligible 30% ROT |
|---|---|---|
| Timber façade | 625–875 SEK | 437.50–612.50 SEK |
| Render, brick or roof | 500–750 SEK | 350–525 SEK |
| Interior wall painting | 250–437.50 SEK | 175–306.25 SEK |
Paint, tape and protection cost 187.50–250 SEK/m² including VAT separately where the materials rate applies. ROT does not cover materials. Scaffolding, access and other additions need to be specified in the quote; do not assume they are free.
Some argue that a fixed rate per m² is more expensive than a painter charging by the hour. Usually the opposite is true. An hourly rate conceals how long the job will actually take, while a price per m² fixes the total before the first brushstroke. Calculation examples and the full list are on exterior wall painting prices.
